URGENT!!! I need to know any website that has journals or articles about dentistry?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Oral health, pediatric dentistry ESPECIALLY, dental caries and etc… I need it for my project works.. Thank you.

Try the American Dental Association website, they have a lot of info, go to www.ada.org
you can try journal of american dental association (JADA) as well, they have a search engine at this link:
http://jada.ada.org/search.dtl
you can try American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) go to: http://www.aapd.org/
For research articles, try PubMed , it is a free search engine for accessing the MEDLINE database of citations and abstracts of biomedical research articles

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed
but you do need a password and user name if want to read the whole article.
If these didn’t work, simply google what you are looking for, and you will get some info from universities and health organizations website that would help you in your project.
Hope that helped

In order to be a pediatric dentist, do you have to go to a program (or whatever) for 3 more years after…..?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Dental school?

Let me get it.

You go to university for four years,

then you go to dental school for 4 years,

then you have to go again for another 1, 2, or 3 years.

That seems forever!

I am interested in dentistry but I want to treat teens. Is that pediatric dentistry?

Thanks so much!

Do we have to do go to specialize it?

You are mostly right and the other answerer has some things to consider. Most pre-dental courses can be completed in three years at any university (two years would be tough…I don’t know anyone who has. Once you get into dental school you will have a four year program and graduate with either a DDS or DMD depending on the school. This degree means you are a dentist and thus can treat anyone you like. You can select your patient base whatever that may be (teens, toddlers, adults, or seniors). The only thing you cannot do is advertise yourself as a specialist (you can’t call yourself a pediatric dentist because you aren’t one). If you do decide to go into peds….most programs are 3-4 years. However if you do this you aren’t going to want to limit yourself to just teens because that heavily cripples your pt base and you will get referrals from dentists expecting you to see the children they send your way. Good Luck and It isn’t as long as you might think…time really does fly

Looking for a good Pediatric Dentist in the Orem, Utah area.?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I took my little girl the the dentist to check on her teeth. We took her to the Orem Pediatric Dentistry on 8th S. Anyway, both my husband and I didn’t like the doctor at all. He talked to us like we were stupid and we just didn’t like the vibe we got from him. He also told us about something that my daughter has (an attached frenum) that she should have clipped. Anyway, we want a second opinion and I wondered what doctors where good in the area…
